In the academic year of 1995 to 1996, The Smith College Vibes was born out of a desire to bring a new and upbeat sound to Smith a cappella. We sing a blend of R&B, Pop, and Indie music with good beats and unique harmonies that keep our sound diverse and fun to listen to, as well as to perform. We routinely travel to sing not just on campus but in the Northampton area or on tour out of state.
The Vibes have made it a priority to nurture close bonds and tight-knit community as well as produce top-notch performances since our inception. Our members are active in many other aspects of campus life from Student Government and athletics to visual and performing arts. Differences aside, we believe music can bring anyone together. While you can recognize us by our signature black and pink attire, the Vibes also stand out as confident, talented, and down to earth people who have a passion for music and who like to have fun!
